Description
Title: Market Manager
Short description: Lead the planning and execution of market launch in Phoenix.
Reports to: SVP Network Services
Department: Implementation & Network Operations
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Relocation: Not paid
Summary: As a key leader on the Implementation and Operations team, the Market Manager has accountability and will be empowered to lead activities associated with the planning and execution of the Company’s market launch in Phoenix.
Responsibilities: These activities include evaluation of sites, supervision of outside contractors and employees in the installation of a fiber optic and microwave network, and coordination with customer operations personnel to ensure a smooth network turn-up. After the initial market launch, the Market Manager will be responsible for the ongoing operations and maintenance of the Phoenix network and will play a key role in evaluating and implementing market expansion opportunities.
Required: Have extensive experience in the deployment and operation of fiber optic, microwave, multiplex, voice and data networks
Have skills and experience in managing a multi-month market rollout, including scheduling and management of employees and outside contractors, driving a project schedule, and making decisions necessary to ensure on-time, on-budget completion
Have ability to manage both manpower and financial resources
Provide in-market technical leadership to field technicians in the long-term operation of a fiber and microwave telecommunications network
Be able to build working relationships with customer operations personnel
Understand SONet, TDM, DWDM, fiber optics, and microwave systems
Understand Ethernet and Internet Protocol
Have the ability to clearly articulate network designs to customers, vendors, and team members
Possess strong oral and written communication skills
Possess strong organization skills and detail focus; self motivation, self direction and ability to work in a remote field environment
