OVERVIEW
The Company
Tower Cloud is focused on providing reliable and cost efficient mobile backhaul services to wireless carriers nationally. Backhaul is defined as the transport of voice, video and data between the cell site and the carriers' mobile switching centers (MSC). Tower Cloud's innovative design delivers end-to-end SONet and Ethernet solutions from cell sites to the mobile switching center using highly reliable fiber and licensed microwave technologies.
Today a small percentage of cell sites are serviced by fiber. With the roll-out of 3G and 4G wireless as well as the escalation in widespread adoption of mobile data services, including text messaging, email, Internet, gaming and video services, there is an urgent need to upgrade these backhaul networks. Tower Cloud specializes in solving these network challenges to enable wireless operators to raise the business performance and quality of their networks while reducing unit costs.
Tower Cloud is based in St. Petersburg, Florida, and was recently named by TechJournal as one of the Top 50 most innovative firms in the Southeast.

The Market
Tower Cloud competes in a market estimated at $4.0B in 2006. Growth in mobile backhaul spending by US carriers is projected to reach $15B by 2011. This growth is driven by multiple factors including continued increase in the number of wireless users, increased use per subscriber and dramatically increased adoption of mobile data services including email, Internet, audio and video. These services are delivered over more than 200,000 cell sites. However, today, only a very small percent of these cell sites are serviced by high bandwidth fiber.
